The first episode of South Park, “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe” premiered on August 13th, 1997.

Cartman is rounded up and tethered to a tree, and an 80-foot satellite dish promptly emerges from his ass. Which summons a giant space shit to beam up Cartman. As the ship flies off he's heard screaming, "Heeeeeeelp! Sons a bitcheeees! Diiiiilllldooos!"

Fun facts:

Although most of the episode was made with actual construction paper and photography. The scene where the satellite comes out of Cartman's ass was done with computers in the same way the show is made today.

This isn’t the last time Cartman gets an anal probe. A similar plot line is revisited in "Cancelled" when we find out the purpose of the probe is to broadcast the reality TV show “Earth” to an intergalactic audience.

The anal probe makes yet another appearance in The Stick Of Truth when the new kid is equipped with a probe that allows him to teleport short distances.
