Wiki Guide
Searching
So, you want to find stuff on the South Park Wiki? Itâs easy, guy. The quickest way to find information is to look it up directly using Search. On the top of every page there is search box with a magnifying glass icon. Just type in your search terms and press Enter! If a page has the same exact title as what you entered, youâll be taken straight to that page. Otherwise, it searches through all the pages on the Wiki, and gives you a list of articles matching your search terms.
If no matches are found, youâll be given the option to create that page on the Wiki. Just remember to use the templates when creating your own pages, this way our Wiki will be clean, clear and easy to navigate. Much like the only road in Canada.
Editing
So now youâre all stoked to edit pages and be a contributor. In order to gain access to this, the first thing you need to do is sign in to your South Park Studios account. Just click on the âSign in, buddyâ link in the top right corner of the Navigation bar. Once youâre logged in, you can start editing the open pages.
Alright, youâre signed in and ready to edit the South Park Wiki. There are basically two ways of doing it: one is editing the whole page, and the other is editing specific parts of the page. An âeditâ can contribute whole new paragraphs (or even pages) of information, or it can be as simple as fixing a typo or a spelling mistake.
Most importantly, try to add or edit text so that it is clear and concise. Your edits should always be aiming to IMPROVE the contents of the Wiki.
- Go to the page (or section of the page) youâd like to Edit.
- To edit the entire page, click the drop down menu at the top of the page (next to the Search bar) and select "Edit". To edit a specific section of a page, click âEditâ next to the title of that section.
- Make changes to the text. (And remember to use the templates for formatting, buddy.)
- After youâre done, click the "Show preview" button to see what your changes will look like before you save it. Previewing your changes will often save you a lot of time and effort in catching minor mistakes, so try to make that a habit. Another option is the "Show changes" button -- this allows you to see the differences between the current version and your edited version.
- In the "Summaryâ box, you can enter a short note describing your changes. Don't think too hard about it, just put in a short description of what you changed. For example, you might say "fixed typo" or "added more information about Cartman". This summary gets stored alongside your edit, and allows people to track changes in the Wiki more effectively.
- Check the box if it is a minor edit and/or if you want to watch the page.
- Lastly, double check your changes and if you are happy with them, click on âSave Pageâ.
Protected pages
Halt! A protected page is a page where normal users are prevented from editing. Only a developer can edit, move or modify a protected page. These are the pages that are protected:
- The Main Page - It just summarizes everything that is going on at the South Park Wiki.
- Episodes â You canât create a Season or Episode that doesnât exist. I mean, come on. As soon as the episode airs, our admins will update the Wiki with the new entry â then you can edit away!
- Other pages â We may also decide to protect some pages in the future because they have been repeatedly targeted with vandalism, false information, etc.
Creating a new page
There are several ways to start a new page. These can vary based on the type of page started, always use these templates to create pages you will add to the Wiki. Items in red need to be replaced with the updated information.

Traits and skills can be organized into subsections based on what applies to the character. For example, Marvin Marsh has trait subsections for stubbornness and forgetfulness, and a skill subsections for his role as Town Historian. (For recurring characters, these should generally be traits that appear in more than one episode.)
Direct in-paragraph citations for specific episodes are generally avoided in the About section on a character page, in order to create a broader sense of who the character is, but can be used anywhere else on the page.
