They almost constantly talk about things people remember fondly, particularly the original Star Wars trilogy. They always phrase their reminiscing as, "Member... ?, hence the name "Member" Berries, often responding that they also 'member. Their exact origin remains unknown, but they date back to Ancient Rome. They are today grown by the Old Farmer and Mechanic, who had to make room for them by removing other crops, such as pumpkins. ===Mysterious Nature=== Member Berries aren't without skeptics, primarily Randy who is at first troubled when the Member Berries begin to say xenophobic things, such as, "member when there weren't so many Mexicans?". As Randy investigates the mysterious Member Berries, he finds they are being grown in huge numbers and they seem to have a drug-like effect on people, which further worries him. Randy feels his best course of action is to start a support group to help those who find themselves helplessly addicted to Member Berries. The group, operating similar to AA, encourages members to admit they have a problem and share stories with the group about their struggles and prohibits the possession of Member Berries while in the group. Randy eventually join forces with Herbert Garrison in hopes of discovering the Member Berries' ultimate weakness and reducing their influence on the election... while a few sentient Member Berries escape. Randy explains Member Berries make us feel like kids again but make us grow complacent.
