These four robbers, lead by their leader Brad, have gone around to convenience stores, murdering over a dozen clerks and guards in hopes of getting cash from Red Boxes that offer DVD rental services. They don't know that people can actually stream movies cheaper and more conveniently online. The Avengers tried to bust them, but ended up fleeing. They kept Captain America as a hostage in hopes of finding his allies and killing them. Wandering passerbys find Captain America and he helped capture the Red Box Killers at the Monster Mash, who were promptly arrested by Detective Yates, though at cost to the force.

- In real life, Red Box only accepts credit and debit cards, and there is no cash deposited in the machine, so these crimes could not occur in real life. (They do find spare change in the episode.)
