WATCH “SOUTH PARK: THE END OF OBESITY”

Fan Question: Is that slow-mo scene in “Coon 2” parodying something?

There’s also nods to other Kubrick films throughout South Park — in “Cow Days”, Cartman talks like the prostitute from “Full Metal Jacket”; Kyle floating inside the massive Trapper Keeper is a nod to HAL 9000 in “2001: A Space Odyssey”; and of course, “A Nightmare on Face Time” is a big homage to “The Shining”.

Fan Question: Is that slow-mo scene (of the boys walking down the street) in “Coon 2: Hindisght” parodying something? It looks familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it…

Answer: Damn straight, it is! When the Coon & Friends crew are walking down the street in super slow-mo, that’s actually an homage to a similar scene in the classic Stanley Kubrick film “A Clockwork Orange.”
