this is the only time i've seen genuine self-esteem from Cartman, so it's pretty special!

I don't know why this episode gets so much crap, I LOVED it and have seen it I don't know how many times. My brother couldn't stop laughing during this episode, either and anything that has cats evolving and posting memes on the internet is awesome! Definitely a super fun episode! :gaykenny:

Stanluv25 wrote:^That's what made no sense to me, Cartman does try to fit in. He was one of the boys into the metro fad. So it makes sense for Cartman, Stan, and Kenny, maybe even Butters to go with the next cool thing. Kyle we know doesn't give in like that. But if they wanted two of the boys still trying to 'Faith Hill' they had to put someone with Kyle..
People change overtime. What happened 9 years ago (4-9 months in the kids' cases) won't necessarily happen again. There's more evidence that Cartman's changing because he's not treating Kyle like crap like he used to.
This is an extremely old post, but to be honest, the forum is pretty dead currently. So I just found this now- but to say that Cartman isn't treating Kyle like crap as much isn't true. Much less evidence of that as well...save for the two parter You're getting Old, which ended their short term friendship in a matter of two episodes.
They've shown to be antagonic (in fact, more so than season 15) with episodes such as Insecurity, Cartman finds love, Raising the Bar, and Obama wins. Not mention bits with the two arguing in Butterballs, and Cartman flat out talking about how he hates Kyle in Scause for applause.

I just don't understand how some people think he's calmed down towards Kyle this season? Even In jewpacabra (save for the end, where he converts abruptly out of fear), he is nothing short of malicious in his motivations. This episode, like some others in the past, are rare moments where the two put aside their hatred for achieving a mutual goal. This isn't set out of friendship in any way, at least on Cartman's side anyhow. I've said this a million times, but Black Friday is a great example of Cartman dropping Kyle as soon as he is no longer useful.

Like another comment said, two people can hate each other, but have the same point of view on an issue. It's essentially that, of course amped up to 11 in order to be played for laughs (although one could question whether or not the episode was successful in that). The two aren't friends, and haven't truly been ever since the true start of rivalry, and Cartman's descent into sociopathy.
