The Spelling Bee was a farce. Rebecca spells a word incorrectly and still wins. L-i-t-t-o-r-a-l NOT l-i-t-o-r-a-l. There are TWO ts, not ONE.

I just looked up littoral & you are correct. However, I googled litoral too, and both showed up as correct. Which is weird, because my Microsoft Word says that it's spelled with 2 t's. But both are recognized on different dictionary sites.
They are just spelling variants, but littoral is more common. You can tell where the word comes from too: this one is from Italian littorale (two t's), which is from the Latin litoralis (one t).
