Re: S25E06: "Credigree Weed St. Patrick’s Day Special" Discussion
I'm genuinely amused by Butters being treated as sex offender for pinching someone. The most harmless pussy in South Park is treated as a monster and that is funny. The court appointed lawyer coming back in the room to slap Butters in the face one more time.
When he's in jail praying to St. Patrick for any help, maybe even a leprechaun, and you already know that Randy's on his way to jail dressed as he was, it's like oh, boy here we go.
Way too big of a giggle from me over the name of the Irish Pub in South Park; "Farty O'Cools."
Couldn't help but notice Detective Harrison deliver his trademark "Freeeeeze" that was the runner in Butters' Bottom Bitch.
It got a little weird with Randy suddenly having magical St. Patrick's Day powers. And then again with the appearance of the actual St. Patrick. It honestly had me thinking everything after Randy smoked up in the jail cell was all in Randy's head and the end of the episode would be Randy going around the holding cell groping the other detainees as if he were St. Patty. Playing it straight and having St. Patrick's Day "cancelled" fell flat by comparison.
Leave it to America though, to take a celebration from somewhere else, turn it into a booze fest, then start fighting amongst themselves about it. St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, ... and I guess that's it. (So much for that idea.)
The reveal about Credigree mixing their weed with Tegridy, I thought they would turn that into some kind of metaphor for America; how it takes things from other places and combines them to make something that's more than the sum of its parts. Like the union of the two weeds was better than either by itself, just like a hokey ethnic celebration can become something more fun for everyone to enjoy; something like that. Oh well.
Overall, Butters' story was funny, Randy was more annoying than funny without a good payoff at the end. Really felt like a subject that Fatass would weigh in on.

Right???? These episodes feel so disjointed without the main 4. Doesn't feel like South Park.triplemultiplex wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 1:14 amReally felt like a subject that Fatass would weigh in on.

The last 3-4 seasons have been dog sh*t. Very few good episodes sprinkled in. Facebook and tran episode are all I can think of.shadmaster wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 2:15 amI was right! Terrible episode, one of the worst in the series.
They hated Trump and never sh*t up about him despite him being on every channel.
Now we have Biden and a terrible leadership that needs to be ripped to shreds, and they literally ignore.it.
China is locking their citizens down worse than ever. Nothing.
They are bought out or something..
SP woke me up to how terrible CCP was and how terrible wokeness is, now all they do is seem like they're mildly woke and it's pretty upsetting.
Their TDS may have ruined the best show on television.
South Park fan since it's inception.

South Park Republican spotted.
"Band in China" didn't do it for ya?
When I finally read about it, it was only from the right, and never in the original meaning. Never heard it coming from the left.
I will agree that the show sucks now. Just look in this thread: we're not talking about the episode at all.
Yes, they hated him, due in no small part to Trump himself, but they gave him a reprieve when he was out of office but still able to use executive privilege. They went after QAnon instead.
You do know we're still in a pandemic, right? Season 24 only had two episodes, and there are two and a half years to go on Biden's Presidency. They'll get to him.

I didn't know anything about being woke until I read about it online. South Park never used the term.

You weren't around black people then. Woke used to mean mainly black people realizing that black people were clearly being abused by cops and are clearly/obviously being kept down by the powers that be.
White people, especially ones that are self righteous, have taken the term over. So for a brief period it was a positive thing, however self righteous left wingers have turned it into a political left vs right BS game.
Sure right wingers use the term woke, but pretending that only brain washed right wingers can call brainwashed left wingers woke doesn't really compute.
I had "lefties" calling themselves "woke" and anyone that didn't agree with them "racist", and I went to a primarily black school.
It was ashame that Matt and Trey hate Trump and take sides - they are not as smart as one would think. I did learn about Zen from them, but they have all but lost that.
Woke would still be a good thing if woke people, or the people who clearly act woke(but you want to say that the name is just a right wing insult), weren't a nightmare.
---
At least you are aware South Park has become very bad.
Like the other user. I am stupidly holding out hope they go back to bashing both sides, embracing Trump's idiocy, and admitting that their recent approach is dog sh*t.

The FaceBook episode came out in 2010. Also I think the show was fine until Tegridy became the main thing. I wouldn't even mind that the creators are more liberal now, (They aren't) because they still sh*t on both sides. There's just more material on the right side currently.

Terrible, hate the direction we're going in. Last time I checked this show is about the 4 boys, not Randy, who isn't even funny anymore might I add.
